Edison, NJ
Attendance: 123 Fans
The PPW logo appears on the screen. The PPW theme begins to sound as video clips of the wrestlers play. The video package ends, and the viewer is takes to the announce team.
Curtis Kingsly: Hello, wrestling fans, I’m Curtis Kingsly and tonight we begin to crown PPW’s first champions.
Nick Durham: Don’t know why we could just do normal tournaments like all other promotions.
Kingsly: That’s because PPW President Dale Veranda wanted each tournament to feel special. By having these qualifying matches, each wrestler would have earned his or her way into their tournaments.
Durham: He made them too complicated, I can’t keep track, and we haven’t even started.
Kingsly: Well, that’s your problem, I suppose. Let’s explain the qualifying for the PPW Title tournament. Each match will be contested under Time Challenge rules.
Durham: Don’t you mean Beat…
Kingsly: Do not finish that thought, we’ll be sued. Over the course of this and our next show, the wrestlers who post the eight quickest match times move on to the tournament. Let’s go to our ring announcer, Shane Corbin, to get things underway.
Shane Corbin: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the inaugural show of Premier Pro Wrestling!
Audience gives a polite applause.
Corbin: Before our opening contest, I would like to introduce the owner of PPW, Stanly Richmond, and the president, Dale Veranda.
Richmond and Veranda walk out to the ring, receiving a small round of applause. They enter the ring and as they walk around, the wave to the fans before heading to the back.
Corbin: All matches tonight are sanctioned by PPW and will contain thirty minute time limits. Our opening contest is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Fraught. Introducing first, from Sigel, PA, weighing 262 lbs., Brian Costello!
Corbin: And his opponent, from Denton, GA, weighing 264 lbs., Jack Overbay!
The Match: Neither man establishes dominance early on. Overbay tries to use strikes while Costello attempts to work the back with holds. The match spills to the outside, where Overbay gets the better of Costello. Overbay beats Costello back into the ring to win by count out at 8:26.
Kingsly: There you have it, the first match in PPW ends in a count out.
Durham: Overbay was smart there, he kept the match outside and saved time by beating Costello up out there.
Kingsly: It wasn’t very honorable.
Durham: But he won, that’s what counts.
Kingsly rolls his eyes.
Kingsly: With our first tag team match upcoming, it gives us a chance to explain the qualifying format for the PPW Tag Team Title tournament.
Durham: It’s some sort of point system, right?
Kingsly: Yes, each team will wrestle each other once. Teams get three points for wins by pin, submission, or ko’s. They get two points if the match goes the time limit, and one point for a count out of DQ win. No points are awarded if you lose or if both teams are counted out. The top four teams in points move on. Back to Shane Corbin.
Corbin: The next contest is a tag team match, scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Trog. Introducing first from Koksan, North Korea, weighing 274 lbs., the Korean Killer, and his partner, from Bangkok, Thailand, weighing 264 lbs., the Bangkok Brawler!
Corbin: And their opponents, first from Oyabe, Japan, weighing 222 lbs., Haruki Isuda. His partner, From Tsuyama, Japan, weighing 224 lbs. Toju Jododo!
The Match: Brawler and Isuda start, with Isuda getter the better of it, so Brawler tags out to Killer. Killer dominates both opponents for much of the next 15 minutes. Jukodo finally slows down Killer enough to make him tag. Brawler quickly finishes off Jukodo with a powerbomb at 20:17.
Durham: Wow, four men in a match, and not one can speak English!
Kingsly: Will you stop! We hire anyone who’s considered worthy to wrestle here.
Durham: Even Japanese kids straight out of the dojo?
Kingsly: Knock it off! We have the first PPW women’s match up next.
Durham: Here comes another set of complicated rules.
Kingsly: It’s not that hard to follow. The women will wrestle under a double elimination format. If you lose two matches, you are out. The four remaining women move to the PPW Women’s Title tournament. Here’s Shane Corbin with the inductions.
Corbin: This women’s match is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Mithos. First, from Allende, Mexico, weighing 116 lbs., Maria Gomez. Her opponent, from Beverly Hill, CA and weighs 129 lbs. Sarah Truth!
The Match.: Gomez starts quick, so Truth sends her outside the ring to stop the momentum. But it’s more of the same when she reenters. Truth does manage to get some holds in, however. Gomez works over the leg, then hits the Price? for the pin in 14:01.
Kingsly: The Price? wins it for Gomez.
Durham: A Mexican stereotype to make fun of!
Kingsly: Don’t even think about it! Next up is Fat Man X vs. Harry Rollison.
Corbin: Our next contest is a Time Challenge match and is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Carl Thomas. Introducing first, from Ayden, NC, and weighing 440 lbs. Fat Man X! And his opponent, from Port Norris, NJ, weighs in at 222 lbs., Harry Rollison!
The Match: Rollison uses mostly strikes early on. FMX tries to strike back. Rollison then resorts to a combination of weapon attacks and throat strikes. A triple fisherman gets two for Rollison. FMX looks gassed as Rollison hits The Letdown for three at 8:26.
Durham: Guess FMX won’t be going to the buffet line when he gets to the back.
Kingsly: Rollison calls his finisher The Letdown.
Durham: Looks like FMX let down Jenny Craig.
Kingsly: Full of them, aren’t you?
Corbin: Our next contest is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Fraught. Introducing first, from Esashi, Japan, weighing in at 121 lbs., Hanami Shioya. Her opponent, from Blair, SC, weighing 123 lbs., Becky Stardust!
The Match: Lots of striking, mostly missed, in the first minute plus. Shioya switches things by going after the arm. She controls the match for the next five minutes. Stardust turns the tide with a few reversals. Submission battle breaks out until Stardust surprises Shioya with a lariat for the pin at 19:13.
Kingsly: Huge lariat from Stardust ends this one.
Durham: did she get here name form a video game or something?
Kingsly: What?!
Durham: You know, those RPG’s or whatever those things are called. She sounds like a title character.
Kingsly: Let’s go to Shane Corbin for our next Time Challenge match.
Corbin: The next contest is a Time Challenge match scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Trog. Introducing first, from Jasper, FL, at a weight of 248 lbs., Sis the Mad! His opponent hails from the Environment, weights in at 330 lbs. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Environment Bear!
The Match: Both wrestlers use strikes early on until Bear uses, well, a bear hug. Both combatants then trade pin attempts. Bear then uses his claws to try and get a submission, then hits two powerbombs, each one getting 2.9’s Sid uses the spell to regain control, and the Environment Bear never recovers. The Madness Driver earns Sid the Mad the pin in 12:26.
Kingsly: The wizard defeats the bear!
Durham: Wow, we went everywhere to find these guys, didn’t we?
Kingsly: Will you stop basing the talent?! They’re all working hard out there. We have tag team action up next. To Shane Corbin.
Corbin: The following tag team attraction is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Mithos. Introducing first, from Cataract, WI, weighing in at 211 lbs., Jack B. Nimble. His partner, from Tower, MI, weighing at 242 lbs., Jack B. Quick! Their opponents, first from Harajah, Saudi Arabia, weighing 286 lbs., Abdullah Majid. His partner, from Rasht, Iran, weighing 231 lbs., Sheik Hassan!
The Match: Nimble and Majid start. Majid overcomes Nimble’s speed with power. Both men tag off to their partners with Quick using power moves on Hassan. Majid comes back in to take control for his team. He gets a cover for two. Nimble and Hassan now tag in. Nimble dominates, so Hassan tags back to Majid. Majid gets two near falls before Nimble can tag. However, Majid hits Quick with a gorilla slam for the three count at the 18:57 mark.
Durham: Nursery rhymes now! Are you serious?
Kingsly: I think that Nimble and Quick have good characters going. Let me guess, the Arabians are cool.
Durham: Of course! They won their match.
Kingsly: Should have known. Anyway, we have our next women’s match up next.
Corbin: This women’s match is scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Carl Thomas. Introducing first, from Nevils, GA, and weighing in at 154 lbs., the Black Flower! The opponent hails from Pahoa, HI. She weighs in at 132 lbs., Sumatra!
The Match: Both start slow and counter each other. Still no clear advantage five minutes into the match. Sumatra uses two back suplexes to gain control. Flower can’t get anything going until she hits a piledriver for one. Sumatra gets 2.9 with a Gory bomb, then the three with a angle German suplex at 11:34.
Kingsly: That German suplex looked killer!
Durham: She tried to take her out! Didn’t you see that!
Kingsly: What are you watching?!
Durham: Deliberate attempts to injure.
Kingsly: Wow, you’re delusional. We have more Time Challenge action up next.
Corbin: The following contest is a Time Challenge match, shedualed for one fall. Your referee is Fraught. Introducing first, from Gulfport MI, and weighing in at 308 lbs. Evander Farchild! The opponent hails from Kuji, Japan. He weighed in at 257 lbs., here is HUGS!
The Match: Long felling out process, with Farchild getting a few one counts, then a two. HUGS finally gets going eight minutes into the match. The advantage lasts a minute. Farchild mixes power moves with holds and looks to have tired himself out. HUGS goes to work on the arm, but it gets him nowhere. Farchild gets a 2.9. HUGS then gets a small package for two. HUGS can’t seem to get more that two moves in at a time. He reverses a powerbomb, then gets another small package for two again. Farchild is able to stop HUGS, then get him to submit to a clover hold at 23:44.
Kingsly: Farchild shows some technical ability to go along with that muscle, and scores PPW’s first submission victory!
Durham: I’m waiting for the first knockout.
Kingsly: How can you encourage people to beat each other into unconsciousness!?
Durham: All I know is that it’s a legal way to win, so I want to see it.
Kingsly: You live a sad life. Our last tag match is coming up. Shane Corbin has the introductions.
Corbin: This is a tag team attraction, scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Trog. Introducing first, from Loddon, England, he weighs in at 231 lbs., Redshirt I. His partner, from Stalham, England, weighs in at 243 lbs., and he is Redshirt II. Together, they are The Redshirts! Their opponents are both from San Francisco, CA. First weighing in at 213 lbs. Kandie! His partner, weighing in at 272 lbs., Kentucky!
Durham: Oh, God, there’re gay!
Kingsly: Equal opportunity employer.
The Match: Redshirt I and Kandie start. Back and forth until Redshirt II tags in. Kentucky soon tags in and dominates. Redshirt I tags in and gets dominated as well. After a while, he is able to stop Kentucky. Kandie and Kentucky show much better teamwork. Redshirt II hits a cheap shot on Kandie that pens up a cut. Kandie gets pinned after a Kaiser bomb shortly after at 17:42.
Durham: HAHAHA! The one gay guy bled!
Kingsly: That blood loss certainly affected the outcome of the match as Kandie fell victim to a pinning combination!
Durham: My mood has improved greatly.
Kingsly: I’m so glad. Our last women’s match pits Kiku Murasaki against Unami Mukanami. Up to Shane Corbin.
Corbin: This match is scheduled for one fall, and your referee is Mithos. Intoducing first, from Akita, Japan, and weighing in at 110 lbs., Kiku Murasaki! Her opponent hails from Towada, Japan, and weighed in at 114 lbs., here is Unami Mukanami!
The Match: For every action, there is a counter to start. No one is able to hit more than three moves in a row. Mukanami finally takes control and gets a few near falls. Murasaki begins to make a comeback, but gets rolled up by Mukanami for three at 9:22.
Kingsly: Mukanami surprises Murasaki there with a Kidoh clutch for the pin.
Durham: Well, she did run around the ring before the match shaking hands with the fans.
Kingsly: What’s wrong with being fan friendly?
Durham: Everything if you lose.
Kingsly: Our main event is now here. Happy Hopeless takes on the Lethal Machine.
Corbin: Ladies and gentlemen, this is our main event of the evening. It is a Time Challenge match, scheduled for one fall. Your referee is Carl Thomas. Machine doesn’t allow Hopeless to really get anything going and hits a triple powerbomb for a 2,9. Machine keeps the pressure on and hits a second triple powerbomb to get the three count at 10:46.
Kingsly: Not too many people can get up from six powerbombs.
Durham: Hopeless looked both hopeless and clueless out there.
Kingsly: Well, fans, the next time we see you, we’ll have the second half of the Time Challenge matches as well as the continuation of qualifying for the PPW Tag Team and Women’s title tournaments.
Durham: Since you just now hogged all the mic time, I’ll handle the sign off. For Curtis Kingsly, I’m Nick Durham, good night.
Kingsly: I didn’t hog…
A two minute highlight package of the evening plays wit the PPW theme playing in the background to end the show.
